Free llms.txt Generator

llms.txt is a plain-text file at your site root that tells AI systems what your site is and which pages matter. This generator reads your sitemap and navigation, fetches each page's title and description, and produces a ready-to-upload llms.txt in the llmstxt.org format — in about 15 seconds, no signup.

We fetch four public files from your site and nothing else. Reports get a shareable link.

What this tool checks

  • Reads your sitemap.xml and header/footer navigation (up to 30 pages)
  • Groups pages into Product, Docs, Blog and Company sections
  • Uses each page's real title and meta description — no invented text
  • Skips login, signup, checkout and asset URLs
  • Also checks whether you already have an llms.txt and whether it is well-formed

Frequently asked questions

What is llms.txt?

llms.txt is a proposed standard (llmstxt.org) for a Markdown file at /llms.txt that gives large language models a concise map of a website: a title, a one-paragraph summary, and lists of important pages with short descriptions. It is to LLMs what robots.txt and sitemap.xml are to search engines.

Does llms.txt actually help?

Adoption by AI providers is still uneven, so treat it as low-cost insurance rather than a ranking lever. It takes five minutes, cannot hurt, and several AI crawlers and developer tools already read it. GeoProbe weights it at 10 of 100 points for that reason.

Where do I put the file?

Upload it to the root of your domain so it is served at https://yourdomain.com/llms.txt with a text/plain or text/markdown content type. Optionally add an llms-full.txt containing the full text of your key pages.

Can I edit the generated file?

Yes, and you should. The generator gives you an accurate starting point from your real pages; tightening the summary and pruning low-value links makes it more useful to AI systems.
